Mitzvah Corps: Chicken Soupers event for Jewish young adults (21-40)
Sunday, October 16, 1:30 p.m.
Meet at Jewish Family & Children's Services
2150 Post Street, San Francisco
Join Mitzvah Corps — "An Army of Mensches"
YAD's Mitzvah Corps is a community service group committed to helping people through acts of tikkun olam (healing the world). We are partnering with Jewish Family & Children's Services and local congregations to prepare and deliver hearty, kosher meals to Jewish people with AIDS, chronic illness or disabilities. This is a great opportunity to have fun while making a difference for those in need. We will make food packages at Congregation Sherith Israel and deliver to clients' homes (drivers wanted!). Please note in your RSVP whether or not you have a vehicle and would like to assist with delivering the meals.
Space is limited - please RSVP to yad@sfjcf.org or 415.512.6280.
To learn more about YAD and see our events calendar, visit us at www.yad.org.
YAD offers young Jewish singles, couples and families (ages 21-40) a broad range of social, educational, outreach, philanthropic and leadership development activities. Our participants come from all backgrounds and lifestyles, bringing a wide range of perspectives and experiences. YAD activities connect young professionals and the Jewish community by reinforcing core Jewish values of gemilut chasadim (deeds of loving kindness), tikkun olam (repairing the world) and tzedakah (philanthropic righteousness). Our vision is to empower Bay Area young adults to become active participants in our Jewish community.
