SPOOK’OT, a spooky Sukkot gathering

Sukkot is an ingather of the harvest festival celebrated in the fall which was at one time the most important festival in ancient Israel. Today, Jewish people build a ceremonial hut (a sukkah) in their backyards, and celebrate the long Sukkot tradition of welcoming their dearly departed ancestors and other ushpizin (guests) into the sukkah.

Join us for our second annual outdoor festival in Dolores Park:

*Meshuggenismo! A Salsa & Klezmer band and the Late Shabbat Ensemble
*An outdoor movie with hot chocolate and popcorn
*Welcoming our worldly ancestors with American Jewish World Service
*Building our Sukkah and shaking the Lulav and Etrog
*Hanging pictures of our ancestors in the Sukkah
*Tracing of your family lineage
*Delicious food

October 8, 5 pm – 10 pm
Dolores Park, Dolores Avenue at Dolores and 20th Street
A $5 donation is strongly encouraged
